Are you a Soho Local?

So the first winner has been chosen in our weekly #SohoLoco competition – a chance for you to show us what Soho means to you. The winning entry was a rather poignant picture showing the blank and boarded up façade of the building that used to be Madame Jojo’s. We loved the comparison between the bright neon and busy commerce that surrounded the sorry-looking shell of what was a Soho institution. The nightclub had its license revoked last October, and since then the closure has sparked controversy and anger from many people who believe that this is just one more step to take away the individuality of the Soho scene.

 #SohoLoco June Winner

Of course, every Londoner knows of the struggles currently being fought to keep the character of our Soho streets alive… Rising rents and the fat-cats are trying to push out the little independents, and there are those vying to shut down the sex shops and brothels that, quite frankly, give Soho the character that makes her so famous. But in this time we rise as a community.

We’re all about the Soho locals – and this love has inspired out #SohoLoco hashtag. We’ve created an Express Menu, that we’re targeting towards those that live and work in Soho. The idea is that for the small price of a tenner you can come and enjoy one of the Randall and Aubin favourites with a glass of iced tea, and can be in and out in an hour. Sixty minutes of pleasure for only ten pounds? That’s one of the reasons we love Soho after all…

Choose from one of five dishes, including our famous Randall’s Burger, Spaghettini Marinara and a Goat’s Cheese salad, and wash it down with cooling Norfolk Cordial. What’s more, we actually take bookings during lunchtime, so you can be sure of a seat, whether coming in for business or pleasure.

And for anyone that wants to come and give this menu a try for FREE, we’ve introduced our SohoLoco competition. Simply grab your camera phones and head to the streets to snap what Soho means to you. Is it a glittery platform boot in a vintage shop window? The faded poster of a cabaret act? Why not head out on July 13th to watch the famous Waiter’s Race, as contestants from various eateries and watering holes in Soho compete to be the fastest server carrying champagne and flutes?

We want to see it all – so upload your picture to social media (Twitter, Facebook or Instagram), tag us @randallandaubin and use the hashtag #SohoLoco, and we’ll be choosing a weekly favourite to give the chance to come in with a friend to try the menu.

So get Soho Snap-Happy – we can’t wait to see what these streets mean to you locals!
