About R&A

Ed & Jamie started R&A 23 years ago in Soho London and Manchester is our first adventure outside the Capital. We are very proud to be here.

Our aim has always been to take the ‘la di dah’ out of traditional seafood dining and make it more relaxed, fun and enjoyable. Along with seafood, we also serve delicious grilled and roast meats with salads. Our Chef Director Ed believes that great food is about honest cooking with nowhere to hide. We serve hearty dishes of the highest quality, in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

As you would expect, we source our food locally & sustainably and much of our wonderful produce comes from Lancashire whilst our seafood comes directly from our British coastline from fishing ports as far apart as Cornwall to Inverness.

Of course, its not just about eating! We have a full bar with an extensive (and growing) Gin menu – and that includes some great local gins. You are very welcome to come in and have a drink anytime – we would love to see you, even if you are not planning to eat with us.

We feel that music is such an important part of a brilliant atmosphere and we have taken great care in putting our bespoke playlists together. You can find our playlists on SoundCloud if you would like to have a taster!

Finally, we think Sunday is the day to celebrate the tradition of British roasts and every Sunday we serve classic roast meats with all the trimmings you would expect on our beautiful vintage carvery trolley. As Ed will tell you himself “we serve the finest roasts to be found in Britain!”
